WHAT IS DERMA ROLLING?
Derma Rolling uses a single use roller device which consists of a rotating wheel studded with tiny 0.5 mm long needles. The devices can be used up to 2mm length needles, for stretch marks and bad scarring.
These needles penetrate the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which in turn cause the skin to mount an injury response. This procedure utilises the collagen and elastin to thicken the skin, repair scars and smooth out any fine lines and wrinkles. This stimulus also causes growth of new capillaries which improves blood supply to the skin.
IS IT PAINFUL?
The home use Skin Roller may give very slight discomfort around sensitive areas such as the top of the lip however this size roller is extremely well tolerated. A professional salon treatment device uses a different size roller using slightly larger needles; this treatment sometimes requires topical numbing cream.
WHAT SKIN’S CAN HAVE THIS TREATMENT?

Yes, there are some skins that needling may not be suitable for this treatment.
If you have used Roaccutane in the last 12 months, are pregnant or breast feeding, have keloid scars, bruising, open skin or using certain forms of medication. Your skin therapist will be able to provide more information if required.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
We recommend you start with 3 treatments and the number of treatments required after the initial 3 will depend on the individual’s response. Treatments should be 6-8 weeks apart.
